A peaceful place

I'm not a big fan of squirrels especially when I'm driving. They are either a nasty sight as roadkill or a hazard jumping into my lane as I approach. Now I have another reason not to care much for them. Twice in the last week we've had a squirrel pick our front yard for its final resting place.

The first was more discreet and hid under a bush. The one today barely made it into our lawn. It was frozen as if it was stretching to reach for something in the grass. I wonder if they suffer from heart attacks?

They both passed away the day before trash pick up. Luckly for Todd he didn't have to dispose of the first one. It was gone the next morning when he went looking for it. An animal probably took it. We are hoping the same thing happens with this one, which is likely since it's lying is such an open space. I guess we'll see tomorrow.

We're not squirrel fans either, but the ones here are live and kicking.
