Okolehao Trail in Hanalei

I happened to pass a trail head as I was driving around Hanalei trying to get the kids to fall asleep in the car. We tried hiking it that afternoon with the kids. It was a great hike not only for the view of Hanalei Bay, but also because of all of the beautiful scenery along the way.

The first half of the hike was very steep and hard to enjoy but after about 15 minutes the trail became more leveled and we had a good time noticing the beautiful plants. Ferns gave way to paper bark trees and pines, there were flowers and plants of all shapes and colors. The moss was so thick it looked like fur.
