On Sunday, April 22nd I was released from serving as the president of the Primary organization of the River 8th Ward of the South Jordan Utah River Stake. I have loved teaching the children in Primary especially my own. Learning the words to the songs they are memorizing and spending time with them each week.
In my calling I had two priorities:
1. Support parent's teaching in the home by proactively communicating with them about what their children were learning each week and providing ideas on how they can build on those principles through FHE in their own homes.
2. Help children recognize and express the feelings of the spirit. We worked hard to help kids memorize the article of faith and began learning passages of Jesus the Christ so that they would know how to put into word the things they felt and believed.
They were three fabulous years!
On Sunday, I had the opportunity to offer the benediction in our general session of Stake Conference. When I received the call from the first counselor in the stake, my heart stopped for a long minute, until he explained the reason for his call.
I look forward to learning in which way I will be able to contribute to the ward in the future. In the meantime, I will enjoy the freedom to focus my spiritual study on topics of my own choosing.
