Daddy Daughter Campout

This has been a busy weekend for the family. We have taken advantage of the wondeful weather and been outdoors a lot.

On Friday night Todd and Emilia had a special date. They attended a family campout held at River Legacy Park in Arlington.

They had a lot of fun roasting marshmellows, listening to stories and watching Kung Fu Panda all wrapped up in their sleeping bags. They also got to see a live opossum (we've seen plenty of roadkill but rarely one alive as they are nocturnal creatures).

The only drawback was the humidity. It was quite humid and a bit chilly at night because of all of the rain earlier in the week In the morning the condensation made everything wet both outside and inside the tent. Todd's new cell phone was soaking in a small puddle of water on one of the side pockets of the tent and hasn't been working quite right since Saturday. Hopefully it will fix itself once it's completely dry.

They both had a great time and can't wait to go camping again.

That's such a great idea. The girls love camping.

The opossum kind of looks like a stuffed animal... but I do believe you that it is real! =) Very cool!
