Bluebonnets of Texas

The abundant rain we experienced last week brought out the beautiful Texas Bluebonnets. It's my absolute favorite time of year to drive along the freeway headed towards Dallas because they are just everywhere! The shoulders and the median are covered with beautiful patches of blue, yellow and red (Indian paintbrush).

We picked a spot near the I20 & 408 interchange and started snapping pictures of the family and friends who came with us.

The kids found a ton of ladybugs, centipedes, caterpillars to keep them entertained when they weren't being photographed. One caterpillar liked me so much it crawled up my pant leg and came home with me.
