A couple of weeks ago we were able to go to the Shrine Circus in Fort Worth once again. A friend of our family is a Shrine and volunteers every year at the Circus so he was able to get us all in for free and in front row seats.
It was neat to be able to see the performers up close. I had a greater appreciation for those whose act was up in the air. It looked a lot higher looking up at them from the bottom than when we were sitting on the higher stands and they come to eye level.
Emilia got a lot more out of it this year. She was sitting at the edge of her seat, really concerned with what was happening on stage. I had to point out to her the safety measures so she would relax. Her favorite thing was to watch the girls dressed as butterflies twirl around in the air attached to a silk sash. Carson enjoyed the lights and music and had fun clapping after each performance.
My favorite part was watching the baby elephant dance with her four year old friend. The little girl was dressed with a tutu and danced in front of the entire audience without any qualms. They were both adorable. I know Emilia would have LOVED to join her.
Our kids put on a show of their own in our living room, jumping, twirling and diving from the ottoman on to the couch. I love how Carson has to plug his nose each time before diving in. He doesn't know a lot of words yet but he certainly knows how to count down... three, two, one, jump!
