A couple of years ago we changed out the floors through out the entire house and in the process the base boards were removed and re-nailed after the floor went in leaving some of them in pretty poor shape.
The base boards in the rooms with wood wainscoting and wood paneling were stained to match the wood on the walls so replacing them was going to be quite a task.
I debated painting over the wood walls and cabinetry for the past two years and finally decided to do it. We hired Jimmy Clark from JBC Paint & Restoration to paint the front room white - including the baseboards. It turned out better than I had imagined.
He did a good job at prepping and sealing the room so that the kids and the dog didn't get in the way. An the oil smell from the primer wasn't bad at all.
Now we are in the process of doing the same in our family room. Can't wait for my messy house to get back to normal!
