It finally happened! I visited the Secret Lava Pools four times and each time for various reasons was never able to get in the water.
They only form during high tide when the ocean water fills them up and then recedes allowing people to walk to them. The water is really clear and warm. They look like aquariums because of the little fish and crabs that get trapped when the water level changes.
On Saturday we saw several Christmas wrasse swimming in one of the pools. They are really colorful fish.
