Surfing

I've been wanting to surf for a while. Everytime I go to the beach I see little kids on their boards riding the waves. I keep thinking, it can't be that hard.

Todd and I took some lessons on Saturday at a beach in Lihue. At first Cliff, our instructor, had us position ourselves on the board and would push us to get some momentum. After a while he had us do the entire thing.
I'm proud to say I got up on the first try and kept getting up every time he pushed. After that I wasn't as good. I got wiped out pretty good by the waves on a couple of occasions.

It took Todd a couple of tries to ride a good wave but after that he got up on his own more often than me. We are renting a board for a month so we can get better at it. I'll keep you posted!
