I've just finished reading the book "The Help" by Kathryn Stockett. I really enjoyed it. It is the story of three women living in Jackson, Mississipy in the 1960's during a time of social unrest. Two of the women are black maids working for white employers, while the third is a young white writer that lives near town.
The book describes how they were treated and dealt with such injustice without getting overly drammatic.
I don't want to give too much information because I'm afraid I'll ruin the story for you, but if you are looking for a good summer read you need to get yourself a copy. I'd love to hear your books recommendations also.
