Yesterday we went to the Circus. It was the first time for Todd and Emilia. We all LOVED it.As I sat entertained by the show I was amaze by how little this centuries old tradition has changed. We still enjoy seeing the animals perform and are in awe at the amazing acrobatics the gymnasts can do.
My favorite part were the bears. They walked on their hands, rode bicycles and a motorcycle and danced! They were so fun to see.
There was a two year old elephant who did some amazing things as well. She always seemed to have a smile on her face. She was just really cute to watch.
The coolest part however happened before the show. After we bought the tickets we decided to get some lunch near the circus. We stopped by a small grill in a strip mall near there. The place was pretty empty with only a family finishing up their lunch and a couple a few tables away who had already ordered when we got there.
The restaurant is in Fort Worth's art district. So the walls were lined up with paintings and photographs for sale. While we were waiting for our food we had Emilia tell us what she saw on the paintings hanging across from us where the couple was eating. They were both in their 50's. He looked like a biker with his thick handlebar mustache. They looked our way and smiled at Emilia. I didn't think much of it.
When we got done eating and were ready to pay, the waiter told us that the couple had paid for our lunch! They had already left, so we couldn't even thank them.
I learned a couple of things from this experience:
1. There are still good people in the world that do things without wanting to be recognized.
2. Appearances can be deceiving. I didn't expect a biker to be the one performing an act of kindness.
3. It doesn't take much to make someone's day. This had made a lasting impression on me.
