The housed we rented was built as a traditional shotgun style home. The name is believed to have come from it's layout. It is a narrow rectangular residence no wider than 12 feet, with rooms arranged one behind another and doors at each end of the house. People often say these are called shotgun houses because a bullet fired through the front door wound go right out the back door without hitting a wall.

New Orleans - Day 1
Today we left SLC and flew to New Orleans with the kids. They were super excited to board the plane and to catch the airport shuttle in DFW that connected us to the right terminal.
We arrived to new Orleans really late, only to discover that my mom's flight had been delayed by two hours. We didn't leave the airport until 11 pm. Needless to say, the kids were exhausted. After checking into our Airbnb vacation rental we crashed for the night.
