Trip to San Antonio

Todd's parents and sister came to visit us for Carson's blessing. While they were here we took a quick trip to San Antonio to visit some family and see the sights.
On our way home we stopped by the San Antonio Temple. It was quite a feat to get there even with two GPS's. One couldn't locate the site (the map preceded the building of the temple) and the second one couldn't make up its mind as to where to go. I'm surprised we found it after all. But the struggle was worth it. The Temple was beautiful and the view of the valley was great as well.
After a day of rain, we were blessed with a beautiful sunny day to visit the Alamo, tour el Mercado and the River Walk. After the trip we found out one of Todd's coallegues is the great-great-grandson of Davy Crockett.
The trip really gave me a greater understanding of the courage and determination of the men who fought in The Battle of the Alamo to protect their land and their rights. I can see why Texans are so proud of their state.

What a great trip. I enjoyed every minute of it. Well, maybe the GPS that kept us going in a figure eight was a little annoying, but hey, what a fun story it makes. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for all you did to make our stay so pleasant. Good food, good company, good family, great memories and ADORABLE grandchildren...what more could I ask for?
