On our way home we stopped by the San Antonio Temple. It was quite a feat to get there even with two GPS's. One couldn't locate the site (the map preceded the building of the temple) and the second one couldn't make up its mind as to where to go. I'm surprised we found it after all. But the struggle was worth it. The Temple was beautiful and the view of the valley was great as well.
After a day of rain, we were blessed with a beautiful sunny day to visit the Alamo, tour el Mercado and the River Walk. After the trip we found out one of Todd's coallegues is the great-great-grandson of Davy Crockett.
The trip really gave me a greater understanding of the courage and determination of the men who fought in The Battle of the Alamo to protect their land and their rights. I can see why Texans are so proud of their state.
