The Bremen Town Musicians by The Fort Worth Opera

Today I took the kids and one of their friends to see the Fort Worth Opera's kids-friendly adaptation of The Bremen Town Musicians. They all behaved great and enjoyed the play.

The cast was great. After the play they held a brief question & answer session. Emilia kept raising her hand hoping to have her question addressed but was not picked - which is a pity because she had a really good question compared to those that were asked. She wanted to know where they had gone to school to learn to perform.

Afterwards we went for a picnic at the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens. They really enjoyed running freely after sitting quietly at the theater for an hour. We got to see beautiful flowers, tree blossoms and garden art, but the highlight for the kids were the turtles in the pond.

We had a little scare when we stopped for lunch. Emilia sat on a boulder and didn't notice the red ant pile by her feet. She was wearing sandals so the ants begun to climb on her feet and up her pant legs. I was trying to shake them off her body and clothes as fast as possible and kept hoping the other kids were OK. Luckly, she ended up with only one bite on her finger. I'm so glad for that!
